Firewalls are NOT Enough Print E-mail
Firewalls are common and necessary components for securing any network.  But a firewall alone is not enough.

A firewall can either be hardware or software and it used to control access to your network at the "perimeter", where it connects to the Internet.   Most firewalls provide basic access control, allowing the network users to have access to particular service provided by the network -- commonly Web surfing, Email, file transfer, etc.    Any attempts to access non-authorized information or services are blocked and may be logged.

With the massive growth of the Internet user base and the constant advances with the hacking community, there are always new vulnerabilities and new ways to exploit weaknesses in security mechanisms. Even today, there are hundreds of commonly available security hacking tools available for free on the Internet.

The BSS Security Appliance includes firewall protection and more!
